  1. My father was a WW2 combat veteran in Europe and he LOVED "SOS", as he called it. He used to make it every so often, and I loved it too! He would also make it when we were in hunting camp because nothing needed refrigeration (he used Crisco for fat). Great memories. I had kind of forgotten about it, but now will probably make this recipe for myself.
