  1. Slight correction: "Sasha" is NOT his "real name" Alexander is his "real name". In English, Russian or Ukrainian. "Sasha" is a common "nick name" or, as they say in Russian/Ukrainian, a "short name" for Alexander. ("short names" are not always shorter). Just like "Bob" or "Bill" for common English names. Very common in Slavic languages. Dr. Gorka, you know this. Your family is Hungarian, it is the same in Hungary. And a person may have many short names used by various friends, family, etc. There are common ones and made up ones. "Short names" are not used in formal communication or business. I call Ukraine the "land of 47 million people and 15 first names" So you may have multiple acquaintances with the same name, so you make up "short names" for them. Quite a sport. 😁
