Because Trump isn't entitled to be coronated as the GOP nominee. And anyone who believes he really has "such a huge lead" over the others wouldn't be concerned about...the others. IMO, Tim Scott would be a good VP running mate for Ron DeSantis. So would Kristi Noem, Kim Reynolds or Kim Klacik. I would add in the mix Mark Robinson, but I think NC needs Robinson more as Governor next year. Why now? Because both Scott and DeSantis are relevant. They are DOING things for the conservative cause. Trump, other than getting arrested and losing lawsuits for his sexual assault on women, hasn't been DOING anything. DeSantis, 2024!
