  1. This also applies to online businesses. Did you start an eBay/Pinterest/Instagram business while you were collecting $600 + per week in unemployment? Yep...that's you! And the income from your business is subject to not only income tax but ALSO self employment tax (12.5%) on every dollar you earn. I hope you have been keeping track of all your costs and expenses. 😝 If not, you'll be paying 12.5% PLUS income tax on every dollar reported. And yes...that GROSS sales. FYI, you were always supposed to report those earnings, but in the past it did not have to be reported unless you had gross sales over $20,000.
