Yeah, but...TN did not have a law requiring that a Representative live in their district. While the legislature recently passed such a law, it was not applied retroactively to people who had already qualified for the ballot. That left it up to the state Republican party. That was not Ortegus' fault. She took advantage of a situation that existed because of a gap in TN statutes. She jumped into a an open seat race in a district where a Trump endorsement would pretty much guarantee a win. And the law allowed her to do so. That's not on her, that's on the state legislature AND the voters of that district. MANY US House Representatives maintain only a mailing address in their district and rarely actually "live" there. Residency requirements for States' representatives are set by state statute.
