It is not illegal to lie to the FBI unless it is a "material fact". Did he lie? Yes. Was the fact that he was working for Hillary Clinton "material" to whether the FBI proceeded with the investigation? The jury said "no". Therefore "Not guilty" That said...this trial flushed a lot of information out into the open and I'm not sure that wasn't the intent all along.
