The museum in Hiroshima used to be neutral, but in the 1990s they made a new one, and it is just emotionally-based, trying to get people to feel sorry for the poor Japanese who did nothing bad, and angry at the US for destroying their city. . Of course historical facts of the bigger picture totally refute their sick display.

Japan conquered other countries and lands before WWII, and lost absolutely nothing of its homeland in WWII. 2. The "people of the lost territories" are nations, so your call to have them be Japanese owned again is reprehensible. 3. The Emperor himself said the new weapon was one of the main reasons for the surrender. . I don't know why you wrote the falsehoods you did, but now you know the truth of the matter.

  19. I don't see anyone pointing out that the US military had dropped many leaflets for days over Hiroshima, telling people to get out of the city and to give up the war. . No one heeded them, and they paid the price.

  22.  @JohnJohn-zn8ib  johnjohn, your most recent comment is spot-on. Yes, there was firestorm damage perhaps as far as 13km away. And lakes up to 40km (not miles) away no doubt got some damage. Please note that neither of those things mean what you said at first: "just about everything gone". . The "just about everything gone" phrase is true out only, like I said, a few hundred meters. Even then, the iconic A-bomb dome was only around 150m away from the epicenter, and it is still standing today (with lots of help). . My parents couldn't believe it when they were walking around that nice city 34 years ago, as they had been told by the media in 1945 that humans could never inhabit that spot of land again. No one really knew what would happen, but yes, Hiroshima is one of the nicest, greenest big cities in Japan today.

  29.  @christopherwright8811  christopher. I don't agree that "most are innocent". The Japanese people could have risen up and thrown off their military leaders. They voted them into power, just as Gazans voted Hamas into power, and Germans voted Hitler into power. . Even in horrible situations like North Korea, if enough people really had enough of it, they could rise up and throw off their evil leader. In that they don't, they are partially responsible for what happens to them, but not the same as those who actually voted for evil men to get into power. . I've had some elderly Japanese men take me aside privately and tell me that they are thankful that America won, or else Japan would have kept fighting and fighting until either they took over the whole world, or until Japanese were all gone.
