I don't see what's so great about the documentary. There have always been gaijins in Japan that get burned out and move to the countryside.

So many false statements in your post and this thread. Japan doesn't lack respect for women. Family life hasn't hindered Japan economically. High interest rates are terrible, to suggest that they led to an economic boom is laughable. Low interest rates are not magically "set". Japanese people save a lot, as they don't generally try new stuff. So nobody wants to pay people for the use of their money anymore. It is correct that that face saving is very important to Japanese. They also like to keep doing things the same way, until someone outside their group forces a new way on them. They don't like to integrate foreigners into society. There is still a strong: "Japanese way is best" mentality. Society does not encourage marriage, as the company must be number one in a man's life - even above God. . Japan is good at muddling thru things, keeping things running until they .... stop, or else rise up and all work together to start a new system.

Wilkes McDermid They are "open" as far as talking, and in being busybodies, and in rejecting anyone very different. Don't misunderstand me, I like countryside people in Japan, but their set-in-the-past mindset is hard to change.
6
@Yoonalayciangelo No one is "forced" to live anywhere, except some people in Communist countries.
6
@koilamaoh4238 Humans are not apes. Humans are created in the image of God.
6
@KeenKoala115 Your "final solution" is evil.
6
@ZoomZoomBoom24 Please tell me what is racist about: "I don't see what's so great about the documentary. There have always been gaijins in Japan that get burned out and move to the countryside."

Been living in Japan for 25 years. Your comments don't reflect the reality here.
5
You sound hurt that you don't understand Japan. I'm sad for you too.
2
@rzadigi That's great for you! No doubt your attitudes towards Japan will change as you live longer in Japan.
2
@unassumingaccount395 Aren't they difficult to digest?
2
@v.g7279 VG, Competitor, God help you and strengthen you!

@heide-raquelfuss5580 God's fireball judgments will start soon. People will realize they've offended God, and will seek to turn back to Him. But they hate God, so will choose a false god, and will try to force everyone to keep Sunday sacred. That will all last around 3 1/2 years, then Jesus will return in the clouds of glory and take all the righteous who have ever lived to heaven, and the wicked will die. After 1000 years he will return with the righteous, and the wicked dead will be raised, receive their final punishment in the Lake of Fire, and God will remake this earth into a paradise it was originally intended to be, and have a clean universe forever and ever. Amen.

@enrymion9681 You are mistaken about "(regardless of origin)". Perhaps you would want to watch the video again?
2
@enrymion9681 When your comment is shown to be reprehensible, you swerve into other areas completely unrelated to the discussion. Apologies accepted. Based on your interaction here, and in looking at your subscriptions, you really need to take some lessons in logical thinking, and in real world life. Number one thing would be to repent, and follow your Creator who loves you so much, he even died on a cross to save you from your sins. He's coming back soon to either give us eternal life, or eternal death. Please choose life!
2
The facts refute you 180 degrees, Bilingual.
1
@completebilingual Bilingual, so you totally misread my comment. Are you under canabbis' influence right now?
1
@completebilingual Bilingual, Now you out yourself as a liar, because you show how much you care by making 2 comments to me. . Instead of being mean to people, why not repent of your sins, and love and follow your Creator who not only died on a cross to save you from your sins, but he resurrected, and is coming back soon to judge us for how we lived these lives he has given us? How will it be for you on that grand and awesome day?
1
@completebilingual I'm praying for you, Bilingual.

And some people still think Prohibition was a failure!
1
@bogdanstasyuk1758 Bogdan and Competitor, good on both of you! While tobacco is bad, it doesn't usually put people into a "unproductive" state like cannabis does. Also, it doesn't lead to stronger drugs. Yet tobacco is demonized. Why is cannabis glorified by many today?
1
You wrote: "capitalists grow richer as wages drop". That's disproved by the facts. But I agree that putting money over family is ruining Japan, and most rich countries.
1
@ink3539 He didn't say that. He said the country is declining because women aren't having babies. Do you know of any other way to increase the population?
1
@ink3539 Immigration is not currently, or in the foreseeable future, an option in Japan. Do you have any other ways to increase the population without women having babies? If they didn't kill their babies in the womb, there would be no population decline problem in Japan at all.
1
@bikkiikun Your comments are the most spot-on I've seen on this video.
1
Prohibition was the greatest attempt in modern history to help society. It succeeded in saving lives and families.
1
@MrNuke101 People who like to break laws, will break laws. That does nothing to refute the fact that Prohibition saved many lives, and kept many families together that otherwise would have broken up. It is still having positive effects in America today.
1
@MrNuke101 Mr., why don't you ask them? Your insinuation that Prohibition didn't preserve your family so it is bad, shows a lack of knowledge of the English language, or life itself. . Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the only one who can create permanent healing.

God bless you for staying alive and avoiding this addictive drug.
1
James, that is a strange idea - nobody should tell you not to harm yourself? Really?
1
@unassumingaccount395 Eat more cars.
1
@unassumingaccount395 Eat more trains.
1
@unassumingaccount395 How do you plan to eat trains?
1
@Yoonalayciangelo No one is "forced" because of the situation. Zero. It's your choice, unless, as noted earlier, someone else is forcing you.
1
@rayva1 No one gets packed in bullet trains. Have you ever been to Japan or even watched a bullet train video?
1
@alexanerose4820 Your logic is anti-reality. You know, and I know, and everybody knows, that no one is forced to live anywhere, except as I mentioned earlier in some Communist countries.
1
@enrymion9681 Your comment made me laugh! Thank you. I mean, yes, I thought the documentary was about what the main focus of the documentary was about. I needed that.
1
HenryDavidT If Japan outlawed abortion, their depopulation problem would be instantly solved.
1
@enrymion9681 That's great! Now go back to my original comment on the video, and explain what I wrote that you didn't agree with. "Most likely reason" is not an objective answer.
1
@enrymion9681 Your definition of "gaijin" is not close to the real definition of "gaijin". Your attempt to pacify me while trying to tell someone else that my comment may be seen as racist is reprehensible. I will be happy to forgive you if you decide to humble yourself and take back your evil statement.
1
@enrymion9681 Your edited initial comment is slightly less reprehensible now.
1
@VRtechman You can.
1
@mitonaarea5856 The Plaza Accord didn't cause the stagnation of Japan's economy. That's trying to shift the blame of poor governmental policies and a twisted society structure that values company over life, onto some other nation.
1
@henrytep8884 You speak a lot of truth regarding Japanese economy and overall relationships. I might just add that if abortion would be outlawed again, the depopulation problem would go away in a few years time.

If she had just stayed a Protestant...

People on weed driving and taking lives makes my blood boil too.
1
@DARKBRiTERADiUSATUM Yes, NTD, alcohol has ruined more lives that weed ever has or ever will.
