@Qwertworks kene, renewable wind power is so cheap now that the government can't find anyone to build them at auctions, even when the govt promises to throw money at them! Nuclear and coal are by far the cheapest.

@Immudzen lmm, Yes, you've acknowledged exactly what I said. You are extremely biased, and not making proper comparisons at all.
2
Rick, so US eggs are much better than EU standards?
2
The video underreported the price of German beef, as she said 500g, while the package said 250.
2
@Immudzen lmm, so, to boil it down, you are stuck on Boston, so want to compare all of Germany to Boston. OK.

The video underreported the price of German beef, as she said 500g, while the package said 250. So double the real price.

Every McDonalds in the world advertises that they use their country's local-produced products. . But yeah, Europeans like their smug superiority complex.

@jerredhamann5646 11:50, The video was interesting, but you lost me at this point, as you are comparing 250g of beef, not 500g like you say, which means your whole talk about beef is way off.

@sebastiann4402 sebastian speaks facts.

@RickTheClipper Rick, thank you, I have. And the true ones show your assertions to be groundless. You write like you have a big superiority complex. Please learn to keep it in check. Thank you.
1
@weerwolfproductions weer, it is nice to see you refute what Rick wrote in your first sentence, but then you make strange assertions in the rest of your comment. . You got the thing about "7 times" exactly backward. Here is a direct copy and paste from the article which explains this: "Salmonella cases caused by eggs were about 7 times more prevalent in the EU compared to the US in 2010." . . You need to get out and discover the real world, weer.
1
@RickTheClipper Rick, wonderful to see that you agreed already that "US eggs are produced far beyond EU standards". You are correct, as the article I read today said that EU eggs are 7 times more likely to have salmonella than American eggs. . Please dial down your superiority complex before we have to bail you out for trying to take over the world again.

I bought 4 bananas today in Japan for 80cents (usd). One stalk of broccoli was one dollar. One liter of milk is one dollar 60 cents. 5kg of rice was 11.5 dollars. 350g of tofu was 50cents. 1kg potatoes was 70cents. There are cheaper places, and more expensive places. This is a local store.

christoffer, you have the exactly right idea, and also make sure the location (out in sticks or near big city) is somewhat similar in the two countries.

@Allegory_of_Wolves Yes, Allegory, Japan is a fire sale now. My rent for a tiny place in an old building near a major city is under 200usd/month. . But yes, average wages have actually gone DOWN just a touch over the last 33 years. When I checked a few months ago, the average wage of a new college grad in Japan was 1,500usd, compared to 4,300usd for one in America. . Come on over and enjoy!

@richardelder256 richard, you either eat a lot, or have expensive tastes.
