the only way to stop the "growth" (or is it more descriptive to call it the "corporatization"? "sovietization"? corruption?) of the state is by preventing hierarchy where it starts- in the workplace. you can't have private ownership of the means of production and expect those at the top of these hierarchical power structures not to use their power to expand their power further- to either control of the state or through collusion with the state. or in the case of a stateless society- to private totalitarianism which might as well BE "the state" - thus starting the cycle anew. anarchy means without ruler- i.e. NO hierarchy. this means every Worker (not one private owner and not state bureaucrats) owning equal shares of their workplace. i.e. worker cooperatives, of which there are plenty of around the world.
