Whither Secularism, tolerance erc... Just asking

Does that means Congress is united now? I wonder why some senior leaders fool twelves too while fooling the Nation. The etching is on the wall. We can’t have a opposition of regional parties catering to parochial interests. Even a non initiated guy like me know that it is time for the Gandhis and Wadras to go. If not for the congress at least in the interest of the Nation and all Indians. Tailpiece: Never imagined that the wool can be permanent enough to permanently blind senior leaders.

Zara Hatke. I am reminded of a Shakespearean comedy " Much ado about nothing" India is a vibrant and super active democracy. Anything and everything that happens in this Nation will have a political hue. Ask the media stalwarts, they feed on it. The ruling party as well as the opposition will constantly play games with people’s sentiments. That is the lot for Indian democracy. Yes, finally the people will choose. That is another story. Sentiment is a type of illness, a medical condition. Like the ember it will create fire when fanned and die away when no attention is paid to it. So, with this issue of Parliament inauguration and many, many such matters in our chequered journey since Independence. Memory is short-lived, whether of the people or political parties who will oppose a matter while out of power which they had advocated when in power. The Nation sees all this like watching a soap opera. This new parliament thing is but another such instance of political play with sentiments. The Nation will move on. Parliament will function in its new place. Governments will come and governments will go, the soap opera will roll on. Whatever; there is a new India, which hopefully have realized this hollow games of the political dispensations. The New India will move on. It HAS to move on with the new parliament building, to survive. Forward Ho!

The MOST powerful weapon of HAMAS are the civilians…..not their arsenal. If only the terrorists were not among the dense civilian population, it would have taken just one day to annihilate the, do not be mistaken by them, I mean HAMAS and Not repeat NOT Palestines. Tailpiece: Media should get its narrative correct…

Painful presentations HT, with absolutely no respect for readers’ intellect and precious time. Please change format to be more relevant and quick in your presentations. Thank you.

Agnipath. A unknown territory. We the people of India hope that the decision for “tour of duty” is deliberate with extensive brainstorming and active study by the Services HQ. We are a democracy and the elected Government has the right to shape the Armed Forces. We are here wading into unchartered waters which will have far reaching consequences for the sovereignty of India. Efficiency of the Armed Forces is not measured by pension bills; all the more so when Defence civilians take away more than 50% of the Defence pension outlay for less than 50% of veterans. Tailpiece: Does the Nation Nation have a right to the study after which this decision has been arrived. That, I suppose is an obligation by the Government to the people and a right of the electo

Wonder why the media is going ballistic on a new British PM, taking office in difficult times for the Nation. Give him space to do a job. Tone down the rhetoric. Tailpiece: Media is important but so are very many other issues in a democracy.

A very annoying way of presenting news…. Ht May like to change to change the format. If not done I am shunning HT. Anybody else?

The need for leadership changes in Congress party (for God’s sake, it is our Nation which requires an erudite opposition). Just saying. Tailpiece: Is there a more obvious signal than “the writing on the wall”? After all whose Nation is it anyway

For Sunak to Captain the ship, later!

Why do we lend credence to theses agenda based insinuations? There are internal mechanisms to address such issue of caste, religious and gender bias within our Nation. Probably, politicians in Pakistan, who do not enjoy real democracy, are not aware of such mechanisms here. Just saying.

I earn that there was a media house BBC in UK. True?

BBC needs to make sea changes in its work ethics to remain relevant in todays broadcasting ecosystem.

I hope these women are not intimidated on the quiet.

Deja Vu!!! Introspection and accountability….Nevr happen!!!!:)

Sonia Gandhi leads. As “leader” of the main opposition. Tailpiece: There have been over 500 such skirmishes and seventeen major actions (including 1962) along the LAC since 1947. Just saying.
1
After so s so many many decades, are we still surprised about the nexus of terrorism on our West? Tailpiece: I heard some one say that Pak and China are coming “closer” because we are not cozying up to Pakistan. Ah!!!

It is obvious that Mr Trudeau is NOT in control of his cabinet and parliament and as an extension has lost control of his Nation. Pathetic view of democracy and free speech by Canada… Are Canadians privy to all this? One wonders. How can one be part of a free worlds where criminals are given place in the par, iamb t and cessation activities against another democracy is openly permitted and abetted on its soil? Pathetic Canad and Canadians….pity them

Wonder why much ado about mutter. Just a matter of mutter in the pods and not missiles!!!

HT. I have said this earlier too. Watching this type of news presentation is torturous. For half the duration you kept saying Nirmala Sitaraman is hospitalized. During the latter half you repeatedly said she is fine. Why waste 2.5 minutes to say just this. You can as well say it in one frame. Bad journalism…. Sir/ Madam

And seriously If the Hindu - Muslim divide in politics (let us not beat around the bush) is referred as polarization…we may be barking up the wrong tree. The divide is because of religion and not politics. And we as a society, the self styled experts, the MEDIA and all those good samaritans are afraid to address head on. We as a society must learn to live peacefully so that vested interest do not exploit us. Tailpiece. Change the narrative.
1
@Sooran Sooran, that is the point. India has its own legacies. Can learn ALL of them as sources of knowledge.. to include all INDIAN literary works.
1
@Sooran Sooran, learning legacies, will help you realise that we are discussing a point in education system and not my "stupidity". Enjoy. Stay safe. Vanakkam.

Ignore actors and concentrate on development. These “leaders” can’t contribute to development so not really important. Just saying.

Why fight India? What has India done to Canada except further it’s economy? Just askig

@niton3456 point taken….but not about Canada but about another Nation…that up is the difference. That is where Canadian leadership is exposed. Think it over
1
@niton3456 Natasha you said it... Boycot canada in India is different from celebrating the assassination of a democratically elected HOG of Canada... That is what the Democratically elected Government of Canada is also overlooking to the consternation of the free world. NOW you see the point, I hope.

Not in Defence, but in reality. The Language.....not a strong suit for many...he should have referred to the NGO rep as “NGO person” , I supposeI He surely had the jeans in mind and not the sex of the person, I suppose. Now twist it as you please... an example of where the media leads us

This habit of wearing your religion on your sleeves should be curbed; especially in “secular” India (Bharat). Tailpiece: Freedom IN religion should precede freedom OF religion.

I notice that there are many “ fiery” speakers in the Parliament but only a few who can really deliver….
