  1. Agnipath. A unknown territory. We the people of India hope that the decision for “tour of duty” is deliberate with extensive brainstorming and active study by the Services HQ. We are a democracy and the elected Government has the right to shape the Armed Forces. We are here wading into unchartered waters which will have far reaching consequences for the sovereignty of India. Efficiency of the Armed Forces is not measured by pension bills; all the more so when Defence civilians take away more than 50% of the Defence pension outlay for less than 50% of veterans.
