S. Gangaram Pitroda is only the tip of the iceberg. There is a concentrated effort by the West led by forces in the USA. Possibly with connivance of the State/Deep state, to keep India subservient. It is possible that there are forces within India (including political) who connive to these plans, by default or by design. Also, how can the “leader” of the free world allow cessation activities from its soil against the largest and most divergent democracy and a vociferous advocate of the free world? The USA has , only five hundred or so years back, annexed with force territories from neighboring Mexico and attacked Vietnam, Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan post WWI. Its hands are bloody. India, in its history of 5000 years or more, has never invaded another country. It is time Indian are aware and increase its Hard and Soft power with hardnosed diplomacy.

Just as Congress is obsessed with BJP?

Mr Pitroda’s remarks is only the tip of the iceberg. There is a concerted effort by the west led by the USA to keep India subservient. Smell the Coffee. Unfortunately forces from within are abetting these efforts… by default and by design. Tailpiece: It is time Indians sit up and take note

Zara Hatke. I am reminded of a Shakespearean comedy " Much ado about nothing" India is a vibrant and super active democracy. Anything and everything that happens in this Nation will have a political hue. Ask the media stalwarts, they feed on it. The ruling party as well as the opposition will constantly play games with people’s sentiments. That is the lot for Indian democracy. Yes, finally the people will choose. That is another story. Sentiment is a type of illness, a medical condition. Like the ember it will create fire when fanned and die away when no attention is paid to it. So, with this issue of Parliament inauguration and many, many such matters in our chequered journey since Independence. Memory is short-lived, whether of the people or political parties who will oppose a matter while out of power which they had advocated when in power. The Nation sees all this like watching a soap opera. This new parliament thing is but another such instance of political play with sentiments. The Nation will move on. Parliament will function in its new place. Governments will come and governments will go, the soap opera will roll on. Whatever; there is a new India, which hopefully have realized this hollow games of the political dispensations. The New India will move on. It HAS to move on with the new parliament building, to survive. Forward Ho!

Right. You ask Q when an answer is required. When a Q is asked assuming you know the answer it shows ignorance. Tailpiece: I would urge all reporters (especially from the “West”) to read the 2004 book “Cold Terror” by Stewart Bell

By Mr. Owaisi’s logic only India has democracy….not the US, Not the UK and of course no other European democracies etc…. Tailpiece: ONLY A DISCUSSION HAS BEEN MOOTED…. SO WHY THE PANIC? If the Nation sees merit in it why not…else status quo.. do not jump the Gun Mr. Owaisi, though we respect your perpetual opposition…

All said and done, The “Ram Mandir” in Ayodhya will be a boost to the hospitality, travel and tourism industries while boosting the State and local economy.

The "Samosa caucus" (this is the name of the programme, in case …) is going overboard with this IAF- Uber stuff….the ORF person's comment that the Army is "Paidal fauj" exposes the ignorance and indifference of these "experts".... BTW, special arrangements for travel by military personnel, veterans and families by air and rail (including online bookings, now) have been in force for decades. Also for hotel bookings..... A poor effort by the "salad"? caucus here. Stay well Forward Ho!

What party of mettle will stand to see its rival(s) prosper and itself decline and decimate? So the “opposition” will oppose anything and everything the ruling party brings in… a complicated structure, this democracy…. Not a panacea for good governance… Tailpiece: Haha! Finally in India, elections are become an election….

Haha! Gotcha you, Mr Manish Tiwari. In the courts it argument to establish who is right to be judged by the Justices etc… In the Parliament it is always a discussion to establish what is right.p, to be decided by a vote by elected representatives. And here in lies the problem…. Most of our MPs including leading lawyers go about it as if one has to argue in the August house…. Tailpiece: So all MPs stop arguing in the Parliament.Debate.

Agnipath. A unknown territory. We the people of India hope that the decision for “tour of duty” is deliberate with extensive brainstorming and active study by the Services HQ. We are a democracy and the elected Government has the right to shape the Armed Forces. We are here wading into unchartered waters which will have far reaching consequences for the sovereignty of India. Efficiency of the Armed Forces is not measured by pension bills; all the more so when Defence civilians take away more than 50% of the Defence pension outlay for less than 50% of veterans. Tailpiece: Does the Nation Nation have a right to the study after which this decision has been arrived. That, I suppose is an obligation by the Government to the people and a right of the electo

You can’t increase wealth by dividing it. If major part of what one earns is taken away and given to those who do not work,,, one day no one will be working in the Nation. Deng Xioping of China realized this in the late 1980s and took China away from socialist economy and Mao philosophy towards capitalism and free market. The results are there for the world to see. Tailpiece: Astounded by kindergartenish statements fro INC and its cohorts

The present Government visualized a future, planned the facility and supervised its construction while the opposition opposed its making just for opposing sake. Now when a fantastic facility for the future of democracy (which they say is dying even while winning few states and by elections to LS) the opposition is opposing PM inaugurating it only for the sake of opposition. When will the opposition realize their job is not only opposing anything and everything at the drop of a topi (whose absence is not noticed). Just saying

In the light of the G20 Presidency of India and connected events etc. I find that in every and all press interactions the big Q is about the consensus statement on Russia-Ukraine conflict. Is THAT statement all that important in the context of a flailing global economy and other more important matters such as debt, health, climate etc. Will a solution to these issues be obtained by the evasive “joint statement”? Or will the war cease after the joint statement? In a world with multilateral leadership environment, as envisaged for the next century, joint statements are unimportant. Tailpiece: The media should smell the coffee and not try and make this non issue as paramount to success just to bring in the word “failure”. And in the context of the European War, it is obvious even to the uninitiated that the solution lies elsewhere than in “joint statements”.

If equality seems discrimination to anyone then that person must be privileged. All democracies have UCC in their respective countries…. For e.g. Muslims and Hindus live in Christian majority UK. There are mosques and temples in UK. They celebrate Eid and Diwali in UK. They all respect the UCC in UK. There are no separate laws for Hindus or Muslims in UK. Muslims live and earn in all those democracies with UCC happily. Tailpiece. UCC equals equality. Anything else is discrimination based on religion. The constitution (Art 43) also wants UCC in India. I feel anybody with a bit of a common sense should realize that.
