The media playing up protests (mostly turning violent for whatever reasons) and downplaying other democratic processes, in the name of constitutional right (right or wrong) have set bad precedents leading to the Nation being a laggard democracy. This right (right or wrong) always eclipses the cause which is NOT always right. It just does not seem logical that all opposition parties and those traditionally inimical to the elected Government (since independence) "support " the protests just to bring down governments (to regain power etc.) and not applying mind to the real issue which does not get that much coverage as the ball ball commentaries on the protests. It is a bit strange that the media, farmers and the opposition parties encourages discussing the protests and its fall out rather than the farm laws itself. Ominous signs.
