  1. SG’s different take on matters is refreshing. Imran: When cricketers / sportspersons make it to lead states they tend to approach governance as a sport. For example, downplaying the opposition, sledging etc. which was part of cricket in Imran’s time. I am not reading much into Imran’s diatribes except for entertainment. The real worry is the economic downturn of Turkey and Pakistan and with Afghanistan in the vicinity - tough times ahead for the neighborhood. Cricket: It is difficult to reach the pinnacle of any sport and it is more difficult to stay there for long, unless your are playing tennis or your name is Tiger Woods. Tailpiece: India won the Benson & Hedges World Series one day tournament in Australia in 1985. It was a commendable victory where all leading teams participated and Ravi Shastri was the Player on the series.
