  1. Great analysis as usual. Mixing political analysis with civilization is fine . But civilization is not solely about religion (e.g. of Morocco is misplaced here) ). Tailpiece: Is Islam a civilization or religion? It is just a modern religion. The civilizations in the Middle East and N Africa including West Asia predates long before Islam. Islam is a modern regimented religion. I am not in any way discussing the merits and demerits of Islam; that is not my intention.
