  1. About 15 years back, I was playing golf on a course adjacent to HAL and in my four ball was a middle-aged friend who had lived in Bangalore all his life. There came an airplane overhead and I remarked it was the LCA. The friend, with a smirk, said ‘I have been hearing this since I was in school”.   3.  @vkramchander1126  I agree with everything you say. Yet after 50 years we don’t hve an engine. I have watched this from close quarters. Our R&D in the public sector (PSUs and DRDO) was faulty in approach. For instance we did not / do not have even now have a dedicated research in metallurgy so essential for building Defence platforms.. our R& D was project based and not technology based… Being corrected in DRDO in 2025, 75 years after independence…. Not finding faults but reasons for corrective action
