  1. ThePrint sure takes pains to cover wide ranging topics of interest. We appreciate that immensely. But SG, tricolor is politics? Uhm….. that is the danger when we are made to feel that politics is everything and it has to be in everything. Not true. just saying. Everything in this world is relative (and relations in international matters)…. For the knowledge of the public the cost involved in developing nuclear arsenals and a Defence force subsisting (until recently) on imported equipment and technology could also have been brought out. The quality suffers greatly. If nothing the “freebie” army will be aware what they are taking away. For a Nation all these are shaped by decades of policies and planning. That was not done in India. It was all the way mostly about politics and power (except for 1991). At least now let us see the light and concentrate on reshaping mindsets, so that such programs signifying deficiencies are not forced to be “repeated” after two decades.. Tailpiece: I suppose once bitten by politics ( in real life / journalism) you get smitten. The prism is seldom changed thereafter. There is life only beyond politics. Just saying - without malice.
