Obviously Gurkhas, traditionally fought for the British and then for India as a legacy of the British. With passage of time and Nepal growing a distance from India - whether we accept or not - such was bound to happen. Luckily Pakistan, Myanmar, China and Bangladesh would not take them in their respective armies for obvious reasons. The British are dismantling their Gurkha troops. India is bound to follow suit in time. Tailpiece: This news is not as big as it is made out to be.

What does President Obama have to say on this? Could somebody ask him? As an addendum, I would also like President Obama’s views on USSC rejecting proposed affirmative action by Harvard and NC universities? This also is a poser to all likewise thinkers in the West..

When even a few Indians do not want a strong and progressive India, what can we say about China and Pakistan… futile discussions

@cosmopolitanwonder9675 Hi Cos! “It is bigger than you think”…. Okay, please tell me why you feel so. As I said Nepal after all is another country which can make its own choices.

Routine or damage control is also diplomacy…. At its best…. Positive thinking

Reportage is not free speech but hate speech is freedom of expression… Wah Trudeau, saab
1
Why is there no widespread condemnation of such vitriolic rhetoric in the media…. Where are the intellectuals and experts hiding

EM is rich… should he be getting such attention for what he says just because he has money and nothing much else

Of Zelenski is not sacrosanct. Back stabbing is Brutusish

The advice from Pannun to Trudeau (self proclaimed adviser, no denied by Trudeau) is reveling and dangerous in a democracy that claims to follow the rule of Law. Canada?

With Sunak at the Helm, maybe , India may have helped Britain to tide over the crisis!!!!! Just saying.

@harrylowe6438 There are many Brits who feel otherwise. Obviously cutting taxes was never a good idea to steady the economy. Proved right. Skin colour does not affect the brain.

The MOST powerful weapon of HAMAS are the civilians…..not their arsenal. If only the terrorists were not among the dense civilian population, it would have taken just one day to annihilate the, do not be mistaken by them, I mean HAMAS and Not repeat NOT Palestines. Tailpiece: Media should get its narrative correct….
1
@LionKing-vd3oi Lion king, that is the problem. As reflected in your post many think the other does not know anything. Wherein in my post have I said that HAMAS is small or they are not supported by regimes who traditionally support terrorism and militancy …. At the end of the day HAMAS is firing from the shoulders of helpless Palestinians. You too are firing from behind anonymity. Period.
1
@LionKing-vd3oi oh Lion. I do not think I was discussing the right of Palestinians. I was just discussing the weapons used by the deplorable terrorist group (large, yes) HAMAS. Have a nice day.

Great. It makes me wonder what were the “people” (the society) doing in Manipur during the despicable act by a crowd? Balme everybody in the world. But blame the society and the people of Manipur too for not "thrashing" the perpetrator but taking videos and cheering. Does anybody feel we the people" are beyond reproach for such despicable acts in society. Tailpiece. Therein lies a truth that feel that all of us are the people are beyond blame for the ills in society whereas we should be the ones at the forefront to prevent such acts. Media should not shield the society.

Interesting. Türkiye anti Israel and Pro Israel…. In different geographies. Multilateral world is here
1
For a large section of the media any policy decision in India by any government is “politics” and not governance. By the yard stick employed in discussions as here and elsewhere in the media there can never ever be governance. What a pitiful media. Tailpiece. This approach by the media since decades has been a bane that kept India a laggard democracy. A shame

Contradictions force coalitions…else why coalitions? No two Nations can align all their respective interests…

I wonder if Canada, Britain and such “democracies” will allow AlQuida to hold such protests on their soil… will I get a reply from. Canadian authorities?

@sandrathompson1277 ha! Hypocrisy at its best, Sandra.
1
@sandrathompson1277 Khalistan activists are terrorists in some parts of the world as are Al Queda in some parts of the world. QED. This has nothing to do with women… you are safe. Enjoy
