  3. It has everything to do with Assad wanting to stay in power. And Russia being prepared to kill as many Syrians as it takes to make that happen. Ben Ali went. No war in Tunisia. Mubarak went. No war in Egypt. Gaddafi stayed. War in Libya. Assad stayed. War in Syria.
