Not notice the Russian invasion of Ukraine?

If Russia is the last Christian nation, why does it ally with the ayatollah, communist china, and North Korea?

Paul Gibbons Ukraine is a democratic sovereign nation. It can make deals with whoever it pleases. The lack of respect for Ukrainian sovereignty by Russia is a major factor as to why it turned its back on Moscow. We know it is Russia that destabilises Ukraine, because it is Russia that annexed Ukrainian territory, occupies eastern Ukraine, and makes war on Ukrainians. The west already won the first cold war. And Russia collapsed. Why do you want another?

A vast waste of money that Russia just can't afford. The result of a nuclear war hasn't changed. Russia would still be obliterated if it ever used them.
4
zoki kostadinov Russia has always been a threat to European democracy. It's nuclear arsenal vastly outnumbers that of Europe's. And it wasn't that long ago that it brutally occupied half of Europe. If you Russians got off your knees, crawled your way out of the seventeenth century, stopped supporting your god-awful psychopaths and secret policemen dictators, and going to war against your democratic neighbours, then Europe might not have such a problem with you. Until then, we're fine with not having the threat of Russian nuclear obliteration hanging over the continent thanx. Cold War Two. Bring it on!

Gordy Bhoy Yup. I'm all for taking on the Taliban, Saddam, Gaddafi, Assad, and Serbian nationalist thugs who carry out ethnic genocide. And I'm all for supporting a democratic Georgia and Ukraine against Russian aggression, war, and annexation. So if you don't like those things, I suggest you fuckoff to some third world shithole like Russia, and live on your knees like the rest of the peasants there.

Which is in response to Russian aggression in Europe.

Russia is increasingly isolated. Even its closest neighbours want nothing to do with it. Leaving KGB secret police colonel Putin no option but to cling on to Assad and the ayatollah. Russia: The land of Mordor.
2
Vastly expensive too. That does nothing but remind Russia's neighbours why they should be in NATO.
2
And just how is a defensive anti-ballistic missile shield a threat? It would only ever be operational if Russia launched a ballistic missile at Europe. Which would be an act of war.
2
Russia has always hated the west. Look what they did to eastern Europe.
1
Gordy Bhoy Lol. Russia allied with nazi Germany at the beginning of the war. Invaded and occupied east Poland in accordance with their treaty with Nazi Germany. Then went to war with Germany when Germany invaded Russian occupied east Poland. It then occupied the whole of Poland after the war, along with eastern Europe. In other words, Russia never liberated anyone. The war in the east was simply a war between two genocidal psychopaths. There are no Russian war heroes. As fighting for a mass murdering genocidal psychopath doesn't make you a hero.
1
An anti-ballistic missile defence shield would only ever be of any use if Russia fired a ballistic missile at Europe. Which would be an act of war. Maybe don't fire ballistic missiles at Europe, then they wont get shot down?

Paul Gibbons I would say that the collapse of the soviet empire and liberation of eastern Europe from soviet occupation represents a win. What has the fact that the US used nukes on Japan got to do with anything? Germany lost nearly a million civilians in world war two, does that make it the victim? And why doesn't Russia leave Ukraine alone? After all, Russia has done far more damage to Ukraine than the EU ever can or will.
1
And Trump bombed a Russian airbase in Syria responsible for carrying out chemical weapons attacks against Syrian civilians. He also recently wiped out hundreds of Russians during an attack in Syria. So, yeah. I support Trump in that.

The more Putin threatens and blusters, the stronger NATO gets.
1
Well, if that were the case Russia would first have to invade Mexico and Canada. In which case the US would have every right to come to the aid of their neighbours (Canada is a member of NATO). But there were no NATO bases in the Baltics until Russia invaded and annexed Ukrainian territory. In fact, the US was winding down its forces in Europe up until Putin invaded and annexed Ukrainian territory. Poland and the Baltics haven't moved their borders into Russian territory. While Russia has moved its borders into neighbouring territory. So here's an idea. If Russia doesn't want it's neighbours to join a defensive military alliance, perhaps don't invade neighbouring territory?
1
A sham referendum held at gunpoint and carried out under occupation doesn't justify annexation.

The 'referendum' was not observed by UN officials at all. Russia invited a handful of neo-nazis and ex-communists to hang around while Putin carried out his propaganda PR stunt. These included Béla Kovács from the Hungarian far-right Jobbik Party, noted for its anti-Semitism, far-right Spanish politician Enrique Ravello, three representatives of the Flemish right-wing party Vlaams Belang, and Belgian activist Luc Michel, who began in a neo-Nazi party and now espouses National Bolshevism (google them). None of them were there on behalf of the UN or anyone else. Which is why the UN does not recognise Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territory. The decision to get rid of the vastly corrupt Putin puppet, Yanukovych, was taken by the Ukrainian people. Ukraine's democratically elected government is recognised by all states (including Russia) as the legitimate government of Ukraine. And is far more legitimate that the present ex-KGB regime in Moscow. There are no western troops killing Ukrainians in Ukraine. Only Russian troops killing Ukrainians in Ukraine. Who, just as they did in Crimea before they annexed the territory, pretend not to be there.
