  1. More likely Assad armed and encouraged ISIS. He certainly funds them (his regime buys oil from ISIS). It was interesting that up until fairly recently, Assad and the Russians concentrated their attacks on the FSA, rather than ISIS. While the FSA was doing most of the fighting against ISIS. So how do you get the west to support Assad's regime? Create their worst nightmare.

  2. You mean the ISIS oil that was bound for Turkey, rather than Damascus? It doesn't matter who released the document or how they cut and paste it. If what they say is true, who were Putin and Assad talking to in Kazakhstan in January, if all forces fighting the Assad regime are al Qaeda and ISIS? It can only be al Qaeda and ISIS, right? So Putin and Assad are hoping to cut a deal with al Qaeda and ISIS?

  3. No idea who 'levant report' are. But they clearly don't understand that there are more than two side fighting in Syria. Even Assad and Putin recognise that the FSA are not ISIS! Does the 'levant report' know about this? After all, that is the only logical explanation, if all anti-Assad forces are al Qaeda and ISIS!

  4. ISIS also includes many ex-Syrian army forces. They were trained by the Russians. And the vast majority of their weaponry is Russian made. Some even have the Russian AK on their flags! The west has always said Assad should step down. He was warned that if he went to war with his people the country would collapse. If he had listened at the start there would have been no six years of all out war. But Putin was desperate to keep hold of his military bases in the Med. And will bomb the last Syrian to keep his puppet in power. But like I said, if the opposition forces are basically just ISIS and al Qaeda, why is Putin talking to them?
