  5. No they didn't. It was an illegal vote. That means only those who supported it voted. That means nothing.

  6. It was a self selecting poll. Those that didn't agree, didn't vote. Because it was illegal. So how is an independent Catalonia going to enforce the result? Can't do it legally. Or by the courts. It acted outside the law. Those who didn't vote are within their legal rights to ignore the authority of the Catalonian government, and there is nothing they can do about it.
