  2. Russia has been up to its neck in interfering in Ukrainian elections for decades. They've use dirty money, threats, and assassination. It was only a matter of time before Ukraine turned its back on that.

But the whole war could have been avoided if Assad had gone when his people demanded it. Only Russia wanted to keep its puppet in power. And is willing to fight to the last Syrian to see him stay there.
