Armens Peas Depends on who you vote in as government. And for that you need a general election, and not a single issue referendum. And we haven't yet left the EU. So we're still paying in. Try to be a little less pig-fuckin-ignorant on these matters.

Simon Stevens being economical with the truth. The referendum was on a single issue. In or out of the European Union. It wasn't about which party governs the UK. There was no manifesto pledge on state spending. Because it wasn't a general election. There was no promise on the NHS budget. Or any other budget. There was simply the correct assumption that once the UK is out of the EU, it can spend the vast sums of money it gives away to Europe every year on something else. But, as we haven't actually left the EU yet, and will be paying in for some years to come (and as we apparently now find that despite being one of the few countries to pay in rather than take out, we still owe the EU money and not the other way around), there's your answer as to why a non-promise hasn't yet been delivered on!

Apart from the massive flaw in his argument: We haven't yet left the EU and are still paying in.
