  1. John Drain Hugo Chávez lifted millions out of poverty? Nope. He didn't. He bribed his way into power. Then fucked the entire economy. Now they have food riots on the streets. He financed new infrastructure? Again, no. Venezuelan infrastructure is crumbling. Nothing works. The regime simply follows the example of every other socialist utopia in blaming the opposition for it. Much as Stalin did with his show trials. And no one seriously considers Venezuela a democracy. And btw, You do know that Hugo Chávez and his supporters twice attempted to seize power by coup? What you have here is just another example of how socialist revolutions work. Or don't work. In an oil-rich nation, the government is having to import oil! Fuck! Even the Saudis can get that one right!

  2. Classic hard core socialism. Play populist and bribe the people. Implement failed old ideology. Blame the opposition and 'foreign powers' for the inevitable disaster. Crack down on dissent. Socialist utopia here we come!
