  2. I guess that's a question you should ask the Libyan people. After all, they were the ones who had to live under a murderous and perverted tyrant. Like the guy said, take a look at Syria. Four or five years of all out war and still the dictator clings to power. So, yeah. Libya could be worse. Dickhead.

Assad tortured to death some TEN THOUSAND of his own people. Not just killed them. Or tortured them a bit. But tortured them to DEATH! How about you actually think about that for a bit? I can provide a link if you're interested. With photographs. There was a journalist, I forget her name, who had an off the record chat with the staff of the Italian embassy in Libya. The embassy was right next door to one of Gaddafi's secret police headquarters. They used to hear the screams at night. And in the morning, they would find body parts thrown in the bins in the alleyway between the two buildings. You ought to have a chat with some of the families that were forced to flee Libya under Gaddafi's rule. They will tell you that some things (shock/horror!) are actually worth fighting for.

  4. And what kind of world will that be? You say your comfy chat with Iran worked. Check out what the Iranians did to young demonstrators in Tehran some years back. I'm guessing you do not live under a dictatorship like that of Gaddafi or Assad. If you're lucky enough to live in Europe you will know the price that former generations had to pay for peace and freedom and human rights, as well as for the right to vote for who governs over you. You might sneer when I say the word 'freedom' and come up with some clever argument about how there is no such thing. But you would be very wrong to do so. You are also quick to disclaim appeasement. A little too quick, I think. Perhaps because you know that is exactly what you are advocating? Like I said, some things are worth fighting for. Not just for yourself. Or for the present. But for your children and grandchildren, and so on. So that future generations don't have to go through the same thing. As they inevitability will, if you except dictators like Assad or Gaddafi. Your ideals are lazy and cowardly. You stand for nothing. Everything is up for discussion with you. Nothing is worth the struggle. And when set against people like Gaddafi, you would be eaten alive.

  5. What do you think it would take for you to go out on the streets to protest against an injustice? If you were Gandhi (a lawyer) your opponents would be the British colonial authorities in India. If you were Mandela they would be the racist apartheid government in south Africa. Those are dangerous and powerful enemies. Now think of Gaddafi. Or Assad. I've already told you what they did and still do to those who speak out against them. How long do you think Gandhi or Mandela would have lasted against those men? You would have never even heard of their names. Much less remembered them. Now how much injustice do you think it would take before you took up arms against someone like Gaddafi or Assad? Bear in mind that if you failed, those men wouldn't just come after you, but after your family, friends, and anyone you have links to. I suggest that the people of Libya and Syria have a better understanding of what it is like to live under such a regime than you. And despite the risks, they still fight. And for those who want to make their countries a better and more just place to live I have every respect for. I have no respect for gutless ignorant cowards who would tell them to sit down and not to make such a fuss.

Assholes that turn a blind eye, then act all fuckin surprised when everything goes to shit. But don't worry, if Trump wins you'll get your wish. The boarders will close. The aid will stop. And you'll be left to the Assad's and Gaddafi's of the world.
