A week ago Owen Jones was warning us about Tommy Robinson. Now he's sitting down with the political wing of the IRA. A sectarian terrorist group. Far, far worse than anything on the far right. He sits there nodding like a child totally out of his depth, while she lectures him on the 'hard won peace process'. As if her party were champions of peace, rather than violent murderers who simply stopped bombing people. And it's not a 'tory Brexit'. The country voted to leave the EU. Jeremy Corbyn (himself a supporter of the IRA ) promised to respect the will of the people. Insinuating that Corbyn's mates might start exploding bombs again if the UK as a whole goes ahead with Brexit is a non-argument. Because the UK is a democracy. It's policies are not dictated by terrorists.

If you think that sectarian violence in Northern Ireland began in the 70s, then you need to read a history book.

Ian Harrison I'm not dragging up terrorism and the troubles. Owen Jones is. His whole message is 'you can't have Brexit because Northern Ireland will descend into violence'. And the country did indeed vote for Brexit. You don't get to pick it apart (while totally ignoring Wales) just because you don't like the result. Don't be so elitist!

So the IRA is no worse than the DUP. Which, given that Tommy Robinson and the far right are considerably less worse than both, would beg the question why this obsession with the far right? If the DUP are morally equivalent to the IRA, and we have both in mainstream politics, then where does that leave your argument against the far right? ...I guess this is the problem with playing the moral equivalence game to excuse sitting down with violent sectarianists. If you do it. Others can play it too. And you lose the argument, as people won't listen when you play at being morally virtuous.
