The European Union is moving towards a federal super state. If you want the UK to be part of a federal super state, that's all good. But have the good grace to be honest and upfront about it. Owen Jones wants his mates in the Socialist Workers Party to run the country. The ones who claim to speak for the '99%', but don't. Along with the Marxists, Stalinists, and assorted other leftish filth that want to take control of your lives. He wouldn't be able to do all the things he and his friend Commissar Corbyn promise. He wants to spend huge sums of money, plunging the country into massive debt and eventual collapse, just because he wants power. Owen Jones is a great admirer of Hugo Chavez and his economic miracle (food riots in Venezuela-real poverty). He wants to bribe you with the debt of your children. His message is clear: You can have everything and nobody but those we envy will have to pay. Same old Marxist bollox.

You won't hear a peep out of Corbyn on Syria either. The Iranians back the Assad dictatorship. And the 'Stop the War Coalition' leadership is filled with pro-Iranian quislings in the pay of Tehran (mentioning no names-George Galloway). Plus, of course, Assad isn't Jewish. So he can massacre as many people as he likes as far as Corbyn is concerned.

Actually, the UK does have a pretty strong hand. The UK market is as important to the EU as the US market. In other words, it trades as much with the UK as it does the US. Meanwhile, the UK's biggest single market is the US. And, thanks to the EU, we don't presently have a trade deal with the US. The EU, and those who support it against the UK, will try to sell the lie that the UK desperately needs a trade deal with the EU. And yet we don't have a trade deal with our biggest single trading partner? It's also not in the EU's interest to piss off perhaps the second largest contributor to NATO. Presently, the UK contributes sizable forces to Europe's defence in the east. So making an enemy of the Brits at a time when Putin is redrawing the map of Europe is not wise at all. There was a very good reason why May mentioned the UK's roll in Europe's defence. Every time Europe's chief Brexit negotiator, Guy Verhofstadt, opens his mouth he increases support for the governments tough line on Brexit talks. Unless, of course, you're a Limp Dem. Or a supporter of Jeremy 'Wave The White Flag' Corbyn and his confused shadow cabinet. In which case you back the opposing side against the UK, obviously.

Except for the hard Left. The communists. They actively worked against Britain's war effort. They put out the usual anti-war garbage: The war was simply about selling weapons and the rich bankers just wanted to make money etc. Much like Commissar Corbyn's Marxist mates do today. The Idea of the people voting in the government they want to enact the policies they want is totally alien to them. They have always seen the EU as a way to circumnavigate democratic accountability. Their argument is simple: We need the EU to protect ourselves from ourselves. We don't want the people to elect those who make the decisions. Because we don't trust them. There are many arguments against democracy. And that is one of them.

+Lickety-split The Commission is nothing like the cabinet. The UK votes for the party it wants in power, and that party forms a government. Moreover, any political party who stands in an election will have a manifesto. And you get to vote according to whether you support that manifesto or not. The EU Commission has no manifesto. Because it is not elected. You yourself know that the democratically elected UK government has no power to change EU legislation. Your claim that sovereign democratic governments are a thing of the past is not a good sign. You are either for or against democratic accountability.
