Or fascism could come in the form of an intolerant and extremist religious ideology. One that is able to carry out extreme acts of barbarity. And can censor the news by using intimidation and threats of violence.

The left have their own fascists. They are called communists. Just as evil and destructive. Perhaps more so. But in reality, it all basically comes down to the same thing. Authoritarianism. And right wing politics has no more claim on that than the left.

+Santa Clause I pretty much agree. At the end of the day, the difference between fascism and communism is what? That one has concentration camps and the other gulags? They both detested liberal democracy. Both described themselves as revolutionaries. Both hated the status quo. And both used extreme violence to get what they wanted.

And what did the communists do to the unions? They simply took them over. They became tools of the system. And if the only difference between fascism and communism is that one had a better approach to the economy than the other (communist economies inevitably collapse), then where does that leave communism?

That's because it is. Imagine the horror of the far left anti-capitalists when Trump said he would rip up 10 years of TTIP negotiations! But that's what they've been campaigning for.
