  6. Pretty much everything John David said is spot on. ''...they use fashionable victim causes as weapons for gaining power and status for themselves'' They're called 'Gatekeepers'. With no mandate behind them they appoint themselves spokesperson for an entire section of society. And then set about creating as much division between 'their' special group and everyone else as they possibly can. Meanwhile, they use their self-declared position to further their own political goals. Using carefully nurtured and exaggerated grievances as a shield against criticism.  ''...by the Little Britain-type stereotypes and insults they were throwing about when they didn't get their entitled way over Brexit'' Certain news stories were carefully manipulated to cast everyone who voted a certain way as beyond contempt. In an effort to delegitimize the referendum result. For example, the rise in hate crime since the country voted to leave the EU. Channel 4 news started the ball rolling with a report about someone who shouted ''Fuck off back to where you come from!'' During a heated road rage incident. Then figures were produced that supposedly backed up the claim. Many of them coming from a website that specifically asked the question 'have you been a victim of hate crime since the Brexit vote?' It was enough to answer 'Yes' to be added to the statistics. No police investigation. No official complaint filed. No conviction. But hang on. The BBC reported that in the last few months, hate crime against Muslims had tripled since the terrorist attacks in Europe. In London. The heart of multiculturalism and the flag bearer for all things EU. And anti-Semitic hate crime has gone thro the roof. All across Europe. These figures were included in the 'rise in hate crime since the Brexit vote'. And used by certain politicians and crusading 'journalist' as a way to make the argument that the UK has now gone nazi. That rejection of the EU means far right nationalism. But I'm not a far right nationalist. I'm not xenophobic. And I'm not racist. But when I look across at the continent I see the far right in France (Le Pen). PEGIDA in Germany. The far left in Greece. And the far right gaining ground in Holland. All these sit in the European parliament. And have a vote on how my country is government. No. They can fuck off.
