  1. Could be a whole lot worse. The Guardian's Owen Jones was in Bolivia a few years back. Telling them all how terrible it is that the UK apparently doesn't have a free media. Ironic, as the Guardian (presumably not free media?) itself reported on how Morales is closing down opposition media. While opening a very spacious-looking $7 million museum dedicated pretty much to himself! I guess some are just suckers to the 'anti-imperialist' cause.

  2. All power structures need to be answerable and open to criticism. Otherwise you have abuse of authority and corruption. Which is the very reason why socialism inevitably goes the way it does. Because if you don't trust the wealthy elites who employ you, then why the fuck would you trust the political elites to both govern you and employ you?
