Depends on what you're asking people to do. To lie, and pretend that they see you as something other than a male with purple face paint on, when they don't? Or to actually see you as you would prefer them to see you? One is dishonest. The other is impossible. Thats different from a trans person who is male, but looks female. Or a female who looks male. You can often more easily see them as their chosen gender. While no one knows what a 'they' or a 'them' is supposed to look like, as presumably it doesnt just mean someone with a bit of garish face paint on.
