  4. +Mad World Of Sam Farage never made any promises on how the extra money saved from having to pay into the EU would be spent. He couldn't. Because this was a referendum not a general election. How is that so hard to understand?

  5. There will be two sides in the negotiations. The UK and the EU. It was made quite clear by those who wanted the UK to stay in the EU that leaving the EU probably meant leaving the single market. The answer is most likely that most people would have preferred to have remained in the single market (it was after all what the UK originally joined back in the seventies), but given no other choice, they opted to leave outright.  But we're all being a bit hypocritical here tho, aren't we? Because I don't seem to remember any promises made by the EU on a vote on TTIP. The US is the UK's largest single trading partner, and yet it was the EU who was doing the negotiation on our behalf. Where was Tim Farron then? Where were the calls for a referendum on TTIP negotiations?    One thing is certain, and that is that the UK government, the directly elected UK government, will be fighting the UK's corner. Unlike the TTIP negotiations where the UK would simply rubber stamp whatever the EU decided upon.

Because you seem to believe this is just the Big Bad Tories playing evil just because they can. But if we ignore economic reality now, it will come back and bite us hard. So grow the fuck up and stop thinking you can have everything for free without ever paying for it.

  8. DCU&Marvel Champions And there are many respected economists who strongly disagree that a country can spend its way out of debt. But you want to believe there is some magic formula that enables the country to spend vast sums of money on top of the vast sums we already owe? Then by all means vote for the same guy who admired Hugo Chavez for his Venezuelan economic miracle. But don't for one minute think that Greece can't happen here.

DCU&Marvel Champions I'm not the one claiming there is a miracle economic solution that allows us to spend money we don't have with no consequence. Economics does not care about your concern for the homeless. And you don't score points by saying how much you feel their pain. We all want what is best. The tories included. Which is the reason why the majority don't want to be risking everything on the off chance that Commissar Corbyn has an answer that enables the UK to spend vast sums of cash without concern for the future.

You're free to hold whatever prejudice you like about any political or religious ideology. But no. Economics doesn't care abut the homeless guy on the street. You can think that by spending more money it might help him out, but if you don't have the money to spend then its no go I'm afraid. Mathematics won't turn a zero into a million. No matter how much you signal your virtue.  And it all has to be paid for somehow. At sometime. By someone. And if you borrow more and more, and the lenders don't think you will ever pay it back, then you get the IMF stepping in. They'll tie you over for a while. But only if you do as they say. Which is reasonable. Because no one wants to throw money away. But I'm doubting very much they would ever hand you vast sums of cash so you can carry out Commissar Corbyn's Miracle Economic Cure All.
