Scotland voted to remain within the UK knowing there was a chance the UK as a whole could vote (democratically) to leave the EU. The SNP made quite sure that the Scots knew this was a possibility. However, the SNP were calling for a second referendum almost as soon as the first was over. And no one who advocated the UK remaining in the EU could make any promises that Scotland would remain within the union if the voters voted to stay in the EU. In other words, the SNP will use any excuse for another referendum. They are nationalists. Its what they do.
