Where is the demand that something should be done? You accuse the west of exploiting the region, and yet when it comes to the crunch you would rather blindly peddle conspiracy theories that blame everyone else than admit that it is your own fellow Muslims that keep these tyrants in power. Reread what you have written. And tell me it ain't so. Your own words have proved as much. And when they do rise up. When they call for support. Where are you? Do you offer them encouragement? Do you look the other way? No. You actively conspire against them by supporting the very people who oppress them. So before blaming others for the mess the Islamic world is in. Take a look in the fuckin mirror.

  2. +Mustafa Ibrahim Simple. Turkey is right next door to Syria. Pakistan (who is working so hard to destabilize the Afghan government) is right next door to Afghanistan. These are people who share the same culture and religion. Germany, a country with no cultural links to Syria, and who does not share a boarder, has taken in roughly a million. And the Scandinavian countries have also taken in large numbers. The UK, while it has not taken in anything like the same number (and who I would argue should be taking many more) excepts close to 300,0000 immigrants a year. I suggest this is the reason for the low number of refugees allowed into the country. However, the UK is one of the highest donors to refugee organisations working with Syrian refugees. It would of course be interesting to know why the Russians have provided so little aid to Syrian refugees. Seeing as they are actively supporting Assad's murderous regime.

In future I will simply type 'bollocks' when you attempt to rewrite historical events. As regards to Afghanistan, when the Russians invaded, the Mujahideen formed to drive them out of the country. In its cold war against communism, the US supported the Mujahideen (it did not create the Mujahideen). The Taliban (and if I'm not mistaken Osama bin Laden) were one of many groups within the Mujahideen. After the Russians were driven out, aided by Pakistan, the Taliban waged a war against their previous allies and took power. And yes. Many Afghans fled the country. As for western governments not listening to Gaddafi, it seems to me that the real problem was the Libyan people had stopped listening to him. Or have you also bought into the idea that the uprising against him was simply a wicked plot by the evil democratic nations of west (aided by those pesky Jews). Obviously, being a reactionary, we know who's side you would have taken. But western governments were faced with a choice. Do they support Gaddafi (a vicious and perverted despot that had armed and supported terrorism against the west)? Close their boarders and look the other way? Or actively support an uprising against him. In the event they chose the third option. And unless you can make the argument that the war against Gaddafi would have ended on the very day he died anyway, the West's actions shortened the war. In fact, if the west hadn't have gotten involved, one of three things would have happened. 1) The rebels would have eventually won out. 2) Gaddafi would have eventually won out. Or 3) Like Syria, the war would still be going on. Either way, Libya would be in a worse state than it is today.

How many eastern Europeans Qatar accepts? I might also question why westerners should give refuge to people who, as you claim, blame the west for ISIS and the fact that their own dictators (who you support) turn on them. But I don't see where that gets us

Add Assad and the Putin to the mix and I can see why he'd want to get out. Saddam, Gaddafi, and Assad are brutal tyrants. The worst. The world is better off without them. The question now is, can Muslims build free democratic societies for themselves? I believe they can. That's providing they win out against the reactionary forces who detest the thought of freedom. And who are prepared to kill as many of them as possible to make sure it never happens. Certainly more people could benefit in that fight than in Saddam's pointless war against Iran. You remember the Iraq/Iran war don't you? The one that lasted for eight solid years? The one that raged on during the years of peaceful and benevolent dictatorship? Care to give us the casualties lists for that one? (I'm guessing you'll opt for the lower estimates). But If the Iraqis lose. Then nobody will have won anything. Certainly not the west. But let me hazard a guess at what your question was really about. Oil? Am I right? Then answer me this. If all the west was interested in was oil, why didn't they just buy it from Saddam?

Its getting pretty old and worn now tho isn't it? Tell me, is Assad using that one too? Either way, I'm sure Saddam would have loved to have raised the price of oil. But he was under an oil embargo. And then there was the Saudis. Who were certainly no friends of Saddam. And who would never have agreed to an oil price hike if it benefited his regime. As for US intentions in the middle east. Whatever their motives, (and despite accusations that they would simply put another dictator in power) they did indeed send troops to fight and die for a democratic Iraq. But at the end of the day, all that really matters is which side of the fight you are on. Do you believe in a free and democratic Iraqi (or Libya or Syria). Or do you stand with the tyrants and dictators?

After all, why would you seek asylum in a country that has terrorised you and your people? On your last point. Yes. We knew all about al Qaida before 9/11. Just ask the Tanzanians and Kenyans. We also knew much about the depravity of the Taliban. Ever spare a thought for their victims? Or the victims of ISIS? Because I think they have far more to do with why hundreds of thousand of (I guessing) your fellow Muslims are fleeing to the west than US drone strikes against the Taliban and ISIS.

The Taliban refused to hand over Osama bin Laden. Many people believed it would have been justified to flatten an already desolate country from the air. However, the theory was that that wouldn't the solve the problem. That the only way for Afghanistan to be stable was to remove the Taliban and build some sort of democratically accountable government there. Western aid agencies warned that if an invasion where to take place, many thousands would flee the country. You know what happened? Once the Taliban were removed from power hundreds of thousands RETURNED home to Afghanistan. You mention Pakistan. Remind us which country in the region is up to its neck in supporting the Taliban forces who want to overthrow the already weak Afghan government. Remind us all were Osama bin Laden was hiding out. When you lay the blame for Syrian and Libyan refugees drowning as they flee to the west, remind us how that all started. Don't give me conspiracies. Don't talk about how these fearless and proud despots 'stood up to a bullying west'. Tell us about the Arab spring. About Tunisia where it succeeded. And about Libya. Where the fight goes on. Then compare your gutless pitiful words to those Libyans who risked everything to make a better future for their country. Because if there's one thing we know. When you go up against someone like Gaddafi. You better make damn fuckin sure you win. Because otherwise, he won't only be coming after you. He'll be coming for your family. Your friends. And everyone you ever had a connection to.

But if your argument rests on western hypocrisy because, according to you, we ain't multicultural enough you are pissing in the wind. You're the one making the case for Gaddafi, Saddam, and Assad. Again, it would be interesting to know where you live. You seem very defensive about the gulf states. Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia is up to its neck in exporting its own brand of fascist Islam around the world. Certainly it appears to have more to answer for when it comes to the creation of ISIS than the united States.

You do know about Russian military bases in Syria? About their Mediterranean navel bases on the coast? You have heard about the thousands of Syrian's that the Assad dictatorship tortured to death haven't you? A dictatorship armed, supplied, and funded by the Kremlin. Have you read about the indiscriminate bombing carried out by the Russian air force? Why do you think that Russian jet was flying around the boarder with Turkey? Attacking Turkmen tribesmen rather than going after ISIS? Who's interest would it serve to go after the non-ISIS rebels and knock them out of the war in order to force the west to chose between Assad and ISIS? Like I said. I'm curious. Anything to say about any of that?

It does matter who is bombing Syria and why. Do you believe that Russia should be bombing the Syrians in order to prop up the mass murdering Assad regime?
