  4. The only reason to demand taking no deal off the table would be to hamstring UK negotiations. If offering no deal will stop the UK from leaving the EU, the EU will offer no deal.

  5. The problem is that MPs of all parties voted in favour of a referendum. They promised to respect the result of that referendum both before and after it. And before the last general election they did the same. But they lied. They never had any intention of doing so, because they never thought the country would vote to leave. That is why they are now out of step with the rest of the country. They have already ruled out leaving the EU. And they have ruled out staying half in/half out. Now all the country is waiting for is for someone to be honest and say that parliament will not carry out the will of the people. No one so far has had the guts to do that. Instead we have a gradual undermining of the UK's negotiating position in preparation for new negotiations. Setting the UK up to fail. Giving an incentive to the other side to offer no acceptable deal - For the UK parliament to do that is unforgivable.

  6.  @duckweedy  The UK already trades under WTO rules with countless other countries. All signatories to the WTO already accept it as the default position unless you are prepared to make a better deal with another signatory.
