  19. We know that Russia annexed Ukrainian territory, because if you look at a Russian map of Europe, Ukraine has got a bit smaller. And Russia has got a bit bigger. Obviously, I've heard the kremlin propaganda about nazis taking over Ukraine many times before. It's a lie designed to justify Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Nothing more. There are Russian regular troops fighting in eastern Ukraine alongside mercenaries. We know this, because the Ukrainians capture them. And then Moscow demands prisoner exchanges. The going rate is generally one Ukrainian for every two Russians. Sounds about right to me. There are also Russia's Chechen mercenaries fighting in eastern Ukraine. These are particularly despised for their brutality. I know many Ukrainians. And I can tell you that although Ukraine has a shared history with Russia, that is now over. The war that the Russians have waged against them, and the lies they have told about them, mean that Ukraine now see's Russia as the enemy. And will do for many generations to come. It is illegal under international law to invade another country and annex it's territory. It's also an act of war. Crimea, if it is anyone's 'historical homeland' belongs to the Crimean tartars. They have a long history of being oppressed by the Russians. And are suffering under Russian occupation once again. Russia has always been an enemy of democracy. And will always side with anybody against it. Russians traditionally prefer to live on their knees, but they make the mistake of believing that everyone else does too. Russia is nothing to envy. It's basically a third-world country with nukes. Nobody buys Russia's version of history. Or the present. Least of all the Ukrainians.
