Talks like a Marxist. Acts like a Marxist. Promotes Marxism. Makes speeches in front of Marxist iconography. Even says he's a Marxist... But apparently he's not a Marxist.

Infantile argument that you need open EU borders to recruit doctors and nurses.

The Scot's guy has fallen victim to his own hysterical hyperbole.

Not so long ago James O'Brien was asking 'please tell me how the EU effects your life?' Before the referendum, he was saying the EU has little or no effect at all. Now, apparently, it is vital to the running of every aspect of the UK from the NHS, to air traffic control, to research and development. But if that is now true, then shouldn't we be concerned about holding to account those who make all those decisions, if we call ourselves a democracy? - Do the Benn test. What power do they have? Where did they get it from? In whose interests do they exercise it? To whom are they accountable? And how can we get rid of them?

Corbyn has already said he would never use them. So there goes the deterrent factor. But he would still keep them. So basically his policy is the worst of both worlds. The expense without the deterrent - It takes a special kind of stupid to formulate a policy like that.

Russia has a habit of internally combusting. Wait long enough and the entire country will collapse into chaos. It'll sure be entertaining to watch!

The more I hear the hysterical arguments against Brexit by remainers like James O'Brien, the more I come to realise that they're not as rational as they'd like us all to believe. A few days ago, James O'Brien was making comparisons between Theresa May and the nazis, because she is determined to deliver what the voters voted for - to leave the EU. You have to marvel at the logic that would compare carrying out the democratic will of the people with fascism (is this how you sell the idea that democracy is a bad idea?). But that same reasoning is used time and again by people like O'Brien - That we need the EU to save us from ourselves. It's interesting that one (anecdotal) account on his call-in show from a German woman sums up the horrors of an independent UK in O'Brian's mind: That at heart, Brits are hateful, intolerant, contemptible monsters. Never to be trusted. Because if you give them an inch, they'll be pulling on their jackboots and doing their Nazi salutes in no time at all. Well, I don't happen to believe that. I think James O'Brien is projecting his own intolerance onto wider society. Because they dared to vote differently to him.

The good Friday agreement is between the UK and the Republic of Ireland (although in reality the republic have very little say on the matter, as the EU dictates their position). If for any reason one side makes unacceptable demands on the other and refuses to negotiate, leading to a hard border, then they have broken the agreement. Its as if the UK were to demand that the republic of Ireland hand over control of trade policy to London, and to refuse to back down from that demand, and then blame the Irish for breaking the agreement - James O'Brian knows this (or he should do), but as he supports the EU against the interests of the UK, he's happy to ignore that.

Labour's leadership is anti-Semitic. Thats why it attracts anti-Semites, and won't do anything about anti-Semitism
7
James O'Brien is not big on democracy.

''Hmm… How can I avoid school regulations for my son while also gaining as much publicity for him as possible? ...I Know! I'll jump on the trans discussion bandwagon!"
7
If the lib dems want to campaign to rejoin a political union that the UK only just left thats their right. But I suspect the rest of the country would rather just get on with their lives. We're not all diehard EU fanatics.
6
Clickbait. Eddie is clearly not a serious journalist.
6
Silly old fool. There is a great deal of difference between attacking foreign apprentices and not wanting to be part of an undemocratic political union.
6
As opposed to the funding by insider traders and convicted crooks given to the remain campaign?
5
You can't ignore the democratic process when it suits you, then expect everyone else to support it again as soon as you think it might go your way. If the Remain campaign had won, does anyone think you'd be calling for a resolution that works for both sides? You're really willing to undermine respect for the democratic process for this? For Brussels? For Jean-Claude Juncker? For an institution that even those who voted in favour of remaining have no respect for, only fear of the consequences of leaving? You'll ditch everything for that?
4
I think probably she realised how wrong she was but couldn't stop digging
4
Lol. A far better comparison would be between Jeremy Corbyn's Labour party and the Nazis - Both detest Jews.

Not so long ago James O'Brien was telling us all that the EU has little or no impact on our lives at all. He was even challenging his listeners to name one way in which Brussels effects their lives. Now, apparently, the EU effects every aspect of UK life from healthcare to education. Which is it, James? Because it can't be both.

Massive PR disaster for Ryanair.

Stanley Burgess Show a bit of self respect. You sound like an angry child.

The Guardian can report on knife crime in London getting so out of control that immigrant communities flee back to their countries of origin. But if, heaven forbid, Trump ever mentions this, miraculously the Guardian no longer thinks it a problem, and puts it all down to scare tactics and exaggeration.
3
This is Russian state sponsored chemical terrorism.

More smoke and mirrors, but there is no story here.

There have always been people who are happy to sell out their country to it's enemies. George Galloway is one. He gets rich working for the kremlin and Tehran on their propaganda channels.
2
...Did I mention George Galloway is also employed by LBC?
2
We don't have to act like it. We are.
2
Are we now all to assume that Danny Baker is a racist and has been hiding it all this time? Or is this really just a case of him not thinking before tweeting, and the mob overreacting?
2
When Corbyn bankrupts the country, and there's ten years more of spending cuts to follow, its unlikely Hugh Grant will be effected in any way. So its really not that big a deal when he voices the exact same view as every other champagne socialist darling in his elitist little set.
2
Apparently, Jo Brand justifies her remarks on the basis that female MP's get 'far worse' threats everyday. Don't quite no how thats a justification. Or that there's much worse than having acid thrown in your face. The show's host, Victoria Coren Mitchell, has tweeted to Farage “I would totally have had you down as a free speech man. Especially when it comes to jokes.” Will Victoria Mitchell be able to take the joke when, inevitably, someone makes a similar comment aimed at her?
2
Thats rather like saying people who voted remain are anti-semitic because they voted for Jeremy Corbyn's labour party
2
Caller starts the conversation about anti-Semitism. Ends up talking about Israel. That happans every single time. That would be like talking about Pakistan and its appalling human rights record every time there was a discussion on anti-Muslim hate crime in the UK.

@karmallama4686 If another country launched its nukes at the UK? - Yes. I would. And I would like him say so too. As a nuclear deterrence only deters if the enemy thinks you'd use them.
1
@mariogmajner6549 Whether or not you'd actually ever use them is not the issue. Its whether a potential enemy thinking of using them on you thinks you would. So I really don't understand Geoffrey Howe's reasoning there. It makes no sense. After all, if you go to the expense of having nukes, you might just as well say you would use them, even if you wouldn't.
1
@mariogmajner6549 To put it in terms you might more easily understand - Because I am less likely to hit you if I think you will hit me back
1
Idk, does Farage make his money working for the kremlin's propaganda channel RT? You tell me.
1
What are you, a communist?
1
Sinjin Smyth I never said I liked Trump. He's an ignoramus, a lair, and certainly no leader. But thats not the point.
1
If they really are that concerned about racists and fascists, then why are they allowing Jeremy Corbyn to speak?
1
No, he's a lib dem
1
He's neither
1
@paulsmith7579 He's not a socialist and never has been. He used to be a Jihadi. But his time in an Egyptian jail changed him. Mainly because of the help he got from amnesty international. Now he runs the counter-Jihadist Quilliam international. He's no friend of extremism. Islamists detest him as a traitor.
1
@paulsmith7579 Thats right. He's neither a socialist or a Jihadist. He's a lib dem. And whatever his brother supposedly might say, the fact is he heads an anti-extremist organisation. Hated by Jihadists, the far right, and the far left. So he must be doing something right.
1
@paulsmith7579 Lol. Your 'both' reply was to Steve Watson. Who had just asked if Maajid Nawaz was a socialist and a jihadist. So you should have perhaps made yourself clearer. And you also clearly need to pay more attention if you believe he is a jihadist.
1
Please come back Mr Blair (after Brexit has happened)
1
Biggest rise we've seen is anti-Jewish hate crime. And we know which party is responsible for that, and who enabled it.
1
This might make more of an impact if it weren't for the fact that in the UK anti-Semitism is now mainstream in the Labour party. It is under Jeremy Corbyn's leadership that the Brighton labour council threatened to ban it's own party conference over anti-Semitism. Soros can look after himself. Anti-Semitism is on the rise in the UK, and it's being tacitly approved and encouraged by Corbyn and the rest of the extreme left.
1
@kevinallsop9815 Nope. I'm referring to the top donors to the remain campaign. Look them up.
1
That will never happen. If the remain side had won, it would have been seen as deciding the issue once and for all. But because leave won, it's got to be all doom and gloom. The narrative is that the country is deeply divided etc.
1
As we have seen with the Labour party, the moderates are now following the loony left

Why would Russia invade Ukraine and lie about it? Why would Russia annex Ukrainian territory and lie about it? Why would Russia shoot down MH17 and lie about it? Why would Russia block an international tribunal into the shooting down of MH17 and lie about it? Why would Russia assassinate Litvinenko and lie about it? Why would Russia use chemical weapons in Syria and lie about it? Why would Russia block UN investigations into chemical weapons use in Syria and lie about it? Why would Russia dope its athletes and lie about? How the hell am I supposed to get into the head of an ex-KGB secret police colonel and explain his actions? Coming war? Lol. Turkey shoots down a Russian fighter (that Putin swears wasn't even over Turkish territory!) and Putin does nothing. The US wipes out a load of Russians in Syria, and Putin does nothing. The west is used to Putin's huffing and puffing. We expect nothing more.
1
You can't have it both ways, Maajid. The UK is country. And according to you and other remainers, the EU is not. So exactly how is the argument for Scottish independence the same as wanting to leave the EU?
