Corbyn has already said he would never use them. So there goes the deterrent factor. But he would still keep them. So basically his policy is the worst of both worlds. The expense without the deterrent - It takes a special kind of stupid to formulate a policy like that.

@karmallama4686 If another country launched its nukes at the UK? - Yes. I would. And I would like him say so too. As a nuclear deterrence only deters if the enemy thinks you'd use them.

@mariogmajner6549 Whether or not you'd actually ever use them is not the issue. Its whether a potential enemy thinking of using them on you thinks you would. So I really don't understand Geoffrey Howe's reasoning there. It makes no sense. After all, if you go to the expense of having nukes, you might just as well say you would use them, even if you wouldn't.

@paulsmith7579 He's not a socialist and never has been. He used to be a Jihadi. But his time in an Egyptian jail changed him. Mainly because of the help he got from amnesty international. Now he runs the counter-Jihadist Quilliam international. He's no friend of extremism. Islamists detest him as a traitor.

@paulsmith7579 Lol. Your 'both' reply was to Steve Watson. Who had just asked if Maajid Nawaz was a socialist and a jihadist. So you should have perhaps made yourself clearer. And you also clearly need to pay more attention if you believe he is a jihadist.
