@swanpride Both main parties promised to respect the result. Were they just lying to get elected? As for the 1975 ref, the result was carried through. So if you see the recent referendum as being a second referendum on EU membership (ignoring for the moment that the EEC back then was very different from the EU of today), then in order to have your third referendum, Brexit must be fully implemented as was promised, and you should wait another 40 years before voting a third time.

The time to have voted out those who opposed the results of the referendum was during the last referendum. Troubles is, many MPs lied when they promised they would respect the ref result. So now parliament doesnt represent what the people voted for.
