  1. The whole concept of a 'hate crime' is ridiculous. A victim of a physical attack isnt any worse off because it was a 'hate crime', than any other victim of a physical attack. The attack was carried out with malice either way. Only when it comes to 'hate crimes', one victim is elevated above another because of their race, gender, sexuality, etc). The problem with that is there are countless other reasons for hating people (age, class, education, wealth, politics, etc). And if you're logical, those too must be labelled hate crimes. Otherwise we're going to end up with people like Laurie Perry deciding who is more of a victim than who, based on her own personal prejudices. And they are many.
