  1. It's the EU who are holding up talks. They won't even begin talks until they have fleeced the UK taxpayer for as much as they can take. They want May to sign a blank cheque.

The EU has very clearly stated that they won't even begin talks until the UK pays a vast and arbitrary sum it claims the UK taxpayer owes the EU (Despite the UK being one of the few countries that pays in more than it takes out). Any trade agreement could be all part of the negotiations. But the EU wants money first, then trade negotiations. Those were the conditions set by Brussels, not the UK.

  3. There was no 'procedure' for leaving the EU. It's simply a demand for cash before any negotiations begin. The sum is totally arbitrary. Basically whatever Brussels thinks it can get away with.

  4. The UK remaining in the EU for 2 more years has nothing to do with his argument. The UK is as important a trading partner to the EU as the US is. What damages us damages the EU.
