  1. He's right. Don't pay them. The UK is leaving, so the EU has no obligations towards the UK. And the UK has no obligations to the EU.

  2. The UK is only willing to pay out of a confused idea that it owes the EU, and the EU will deliver on a good trade deal. Neither is the case, so the UK shouldn't pay a penny. What are they going to do? Kick out all the Brits? Doing so would endanger their own citizens rights in the UK. Not a clever move.
