  1. The UK needs to know what kind of trade deal Brussels will offer before anything can be decided on the Irish border. We've heard a lot about the UK's obligation to the EU. But if the UK has obligations to the EU, then the EU also has obligations to the UK. Any financial settlement should be entirely dependent of what sort of deal the EU is willing to offer. Imo Brussels is determined to have bad relations with the UK because of Brexit. It's about time we recognised that, treat them as they are treating us, and scale back our commitments to mainland Europe accordingly.
