3 or 4 times actually, if you're really good. Many have competed in every Olympics from late teens all the way to retirement in their mid 30s

Canada has seen 2x as many deaths as Japan despite having less than 1/3 their population, and that is with Canada's younger population and much lower population density. Plus no lockdown in Japan, when Canada is one of countries with longest lockdown periods

@KyleRuggles That Japan would be much safer to hold the Olympics than Canada or any Western country, so if I had to find a place to hold Olympics, during pandemic, Japan would be one of the better choices
2
Japan's infection rate has consistently remained lower than the west despite having oldest population, very high population density and no lockdowns

@pearjun1188 In the west, Japan is always brought up as example of country that handled pandemic very well. Testing and classification alone do not explain massive disparity
2
@kaylita6446 Covid situation is generally worse in their own countries compared o Japan
2
@ramjam6934 In the highly vaccinated west, yes. Not in Asia, Africa and Latin America without much vaccines. Not everything is orientated around western countries

@voice2voiceless Still death rate is fraction (1/18) of that of USA despite not a single lockdown. Countries with similar average age as Japan such as Italy, Spain and Germany also saw per capita death rates over 10 times higher than Japan. Heck even much younger countries like Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Iran, Turkey, India saw death rates several times higher

Olympics helps small businesses with tourists, but not this time, cause no tourists are allowed
