  1. Latin America has low birth rates now. They do a lot poorer job at boosting fertility rates in Spain and Portugal compared to France with their immigrants mostly from former African colonies

Now the Italian descent population in those states are old and declining and are also rapidly being replaced. Far larger percentage of elderly than young people in those states are of Italian descent, not to mention large percent of elderly people in Florida
