Plus extremely stressful and demanding education system for kids and tiny living spaces with the small apartments where people from those countries typically live in, all of which deter having children

No, Hong Kong is denser in practice as Singapore is much flatter meaning much greater proportion of land(pretty much entire territory) is able to be used for housing than in Hong Kong(where it’s confined to the narrow strips of coastlines and valleys) due to the terrain. I’ve been to both cities. Singapore is denser on paper since it doesn’t contain a lot of mountains with terrain that are unable to be built on unlike Hong Kong

China-Philippines relations have gotten a lot better since 2016 it seems
25
Especially true for East Asian countries like Japan. where working hours for parents are very long, school system is very stressful and living spaces are tiny
21
Its not only religion. Humans create conflict over literally everything. Religion is only just 1 thing that humans have conflicts over
20
@KitKat-gn2nn because situation in new york is so bad, people are too afraid to protest. Tons of new yorkers know someone whos died from covid 19
18
As the rest of the world enjoys freedom. Residents of Beijing and Shanghai are locked down. RIP
16
Other countries:hey america take this seriously America: Parties and gathers in crowds without social distancing and masks
13
@gdspace5592 Yep, and China and Russia would not want a unified Korea under the ROK(US aligned) under their doorstep
12
@fisherfriendman that’s not how you drive out an invader, just by driving them into their original borders. It’s like during WW2 if allied forces drove Nazis back into original German borders but, instead, they drove them back than launched an invasion into Germany. Counterattacking is part of war
10
Because they are at higher latitude, thus sun angle in east Asia still too low to deliver extreme heat. Meanwhile, south and Southeast Asia are tropical regions in the last weeks of their dry season-hottest time of the year
10
@夜深了-z2o East Asia actually is very hot and moist in summer. Thing is, it is wealthier than south and Southeast Asia, so there’s AC everywhere while in those poorer regions, it’s hot year round, plus many can’t afford AC

Chinese vaccines are useless. Chile proved it
9
Yeah, like the elite can travel, but we can't
8
Once you have vaccine. Elimination strategy becomes unsustainable. Global cities following covid zero like Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore would become less economically important to global economy due to being shuttered than cities following vaccination and mitigation like London and New York
8
@Obonye3rd Ukraine had Soviet nukes. After collapse of Soviet Union, all the nukes were allocated and thus transferred to Russia
7
Zero covid strategy causing vaccine complacency
7
Its the competitive education system. Everyone wants to get an edge over others
6
A big reason why US and Western Europe massively reduced their pollution levels-factories got moved to countries like China, India and Vietnam
6
america has 60000 cases everyday and over 1000 deaths and they're doing the same
6
china parties after it has eliminated the virus. America, parties during the middle of the pandemic. Look at the parties in los angeles and miami, 2 cities each recording thousands of cases a day
5
@みなみ南-s6e Other countries have those incidents too
4
Only rich Chinese students, not poor ones
4
Made in China quality buildings
4
Kick out the communists
4
it seems that eastern collectivism is working better now, than western individualism. You can see, as the amount of cases in asia falls(more recoveries than new cases), while infection skyrockets in the west, as people insist on going outside, and using crowded trains
4
Actually it’s due to AC and fans that humans in Southeast Asia are no longer used to the tropical heat
4
They might’ve been upset by the fact that lockdown caused them to lose their jobs and their income and pushed them below poverty line
4
Malaysia did well until delta variant came in
4
lol, asians going extreme in order to study
4
yes, they do tend to use more english words in conversations compared to mainlanders
4
hong kong is wasting resources. Why waste hospital rooms and medical equipment for patients with mild symptoms who could just stay at home. Thats what western countries do to reserve hospitals for serious/critical cases. jk, thats why hong kong was able to keep case numbers, transmission rates and death rates low
3
Made in China amusement park rides
3
@xinjinzhu2281 Liberal democracies did not impose lockdowns that strict and mandate everyone in an entire city get tested
3
After we just heard about floods in New York and London
3
Mainland hides their data
3
Arabic Reja Never
3
Lucky I’m not living in China with all the lockdowns and mass testing
3
because americans are not disiplined. In china, 6 year olds can keep their mask on for the whole day in public. In america, not even adults are disiplined enough to wear their mask for whole day
3
Well people are wearing masks so yeah, there is covid
3
Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines-being located close to the ocean thus sea breezes and also lots of rain year round with their tropical rainforest climate, both of which mitigate pollution
3
@Alex-pj8nz There were mass graves in Wuhan
3
Japan's masking culture did not work to stop it
3
Can't believe they decided to vote for a dictator's son
3
Libya and Iraq never developed nukes and Ukraine’s nukes were soviet nukes which all ended up being allocated and thus transferred to Russia after collapse of USSR
3
@antihypocrisy8978 it actually benefited Chinese economy, lol, and caused their gdp growth to speed up
3
without him, the PRC would've probably collapsed in 1989
3
Because in China, unlike other countries, even supermarkets are closed during lockdown. Thus they really have to stock up
3
China's birth rate is already very low and they're in a similar situation as Japan already demographically, however, unlike Japan, they aren't a wealthy country yet
3
@rowredround7206 Natural immunity does exist
