  12. China is very mountainous country. Many cities are in valleys, basins and plateaus. Despite it being similar size to USA. It has far less flat land compared to USA, eg eastern half of USA is very flat, with exception of Appalachia, China doesn't even have any comparable flat region similar to gigantic size of Eastern half of USA. China has to manage 4 times the population with far less flat land as USA

  16. China still has homelessness and high housing prices, so housing is still not enough. Also California is prone to earthquakes. China builds lots of buildings very quickly but their quality is very low as they compromise safety and quality for speed, like the shaking skyscraper in Shenzhen, and building like China would be disastrous in California. China even proved that themselves when earthquake strikes, that their buildings are build quickly but without quality, such as how many buildings in Chengdu collapsed easily in 2008 earthquake killing 87,000 while in San Francisco and LA, the last major earthquakes in those 2 cities killed 63 and 57 respectively as their buildings held up

Outside the cities, completely different story, with China lacking roads, schools, hospitals and toilets/sanitation outside cities while west is able to provide those services to both urban and rural area
