  3. Well trees need water and Phoenix and Las Vegas have desert climates too dry for trees thus a lot of artificial watering is needed for trees which is both expensive and draws heavily from the already scarce water reserves

  4.  @lingth  Well China does artificially water their planted forests in the desert. Furthermore, they still do cloud seeding in the dry regions to try and convert the local climate to a wetter one that could siupport it
